2013 Ducati Multistrada 1200 S Touring – Urban Mode or What the Doctor Ordered
Ducati’s marketing says the Multistrada 1200 S Touring is four bikes in one, and each mode matches a riding progression in my recovery from this spring’s broken collarbone. Seems a good excuse for a series of mini-reviews covering the Urban, Touring, Sport and (maybe) Enduro modes as I reacquaint myself with riding.

As the Jeep Wrangler churns its way up the incline of a quad trail, its nose is pointed skyward, I can’t see the “road” in front of the vehicle over the hood, and I’m not entirely sure what’s on the other side of the rise. This is a point where your faith in the Jeep’s four wheel drive, and the Wrangler Unlimited’s inherent indestructibility. The psychological distance from roaming around town roofless in the sun is massive, as the Jeep drives home that it is an all access pass to the back country.
The e-mail comes promptly after my swim work out, “500 kilometers! You’re kind of a big deal…you’ve logged over 500 kilometers with RunKeeper!” Assuredly the bigger deal, is that RunKeeper continues to surprise and delight me nearly every workout, that leads to motivation, and some very effective marketing.
